Help Wi-fi vs Mobile Data problem, help!

Hi, I bought a used phone and got it working on the Walmart Family Mobile network, which is backed by T-Mobile. Things worked fine with voice calls, texting, and internet access. But I tried to install an app to enable Wi-Fi calling, it did not work and I uninstalled it. But since then any of my app that needs to access the internet will only work if I am connected to a Wi-Fi network. If there is no Wi-Fi network nearby, or I turn Wi-Fi off, then apps like the web browser will not work. I looked all over but cannot figure out how to tell these apps to use mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.

I will be grateful if someone can help me get my phone's apps to use mobile data instead of Wi-Fi. Thank you in advance for you help!

Hi, thank you for your quick response. I have the Samsung Galaxy S 4G. My goal is not to run my apps through Wi-Fi, but to somehow get my current applications (web browser, email, Google search, etc), to use Mobile Data, especially when there is no Wi-Fi. That is the help I am seeking. Thank you.

You may have to reset your phone you can do so thru your settings just make sure all your important info is backed up.

Thanks for your suggestion. I was hoping not having to do a reset. I keep reading others mentioning being able to turn Mobile Data on and off, but can't find how to do that. Would you know how? Maybe I can try that first?

You have galaxy s sorry I was thinking of a diff phone its in 1 of 2 places depending on what sw v your on. Anything lower then ICS its wireless and networks. Above that its in more settings mobile networks

I guess I have 'Wireless and Network'. I looked through the various settings but do not know which one to change or what to change. These are the categories with 'wireless and network':
- Flight mode
- Wi-Fi settings
- Mobile AP
- Bluetooth settings
- Tethering
- VPN settings
- Mobile networks

Which one should I click into and then what?
Thanks.
