Just saw WidgetLocker update in the Market. It claims to fix the battery drain for Motorola OTA updates and also has new features like Ice Cream Sandwich lockscreen!!!

I can confirm it does indeed fix the battery drain issue. It also includes some very cool new sliders and an improved UI look. Definitely a good update!

Yup. I vouch for the change in widgetlocker as well. Although I can't say I noticed any difference with battery drain (I was one of the few that didn't have any issues with it).

A couple things I love with the new update, no icon in tray when Widgetlocker is enabled and the ICS locker! Those updates alone have added convenience to my phone use. I'm still able to use the Pacman themed locker along with the ICS locker (to do a quick unlock for still, vidoe, and HDR camera app).

Woah, I updated yesterday, but looks like there's a 2nd update for Widgetlocker that I'm downloading now.

I don't know what they changed, but I must say, ever since purchasing widgetlocker, I've had my device customized to almost exactly as I've wanted it.

All that would be left would be for fede to finish up the Launcher Pro Plus overhaul, which hopefully will include a semi-transparent app drawer (like Go Launcher) and also be able to scroll sideways.

If apple really wanted to, they'd just ask for a percentage of the money made from the app.

Funny thing is, I read an article the other day talking about how there was another phone that had slide to unlock prior to the iPhone, so it's possible that Apple may have been issued a patent that they wouldn't have rights to.

Indeed, it was called the Neonode N1m, running Windows CE. It came out in 2005, the same year Apple apparently applied for the patent. So, when the iPhone came out in 2007, "slide to unlock" already existed on a phone for over two years.

Since this patent has already been invalidated in Europe due to prior art, I really don't expect it to hold up in US courts should Apple try to pursue legal cases against other phone manufacturers.

This may sound pretty pathetic, but with WL back up and running on my phone I feel like I got back together with my GF after a bad fight (except there was no makeup sex, lol).

Between WL and swipe pad I can do 80% of whatever I need without ever unlocking the phone.

Funny, but not necessarily pathetic because it's just an analogy (at least, I hope it's just an analogy...if not, then yeah, it does sound pathetic...LOL).

I actually never used Widgetlocker until I got my Photon. I'm so sad that I didn't bite the bullet and buy this before. This app is absolutely awesome, especially with all the customizations. I like to have a minimal amount of clutter on my phones, but easy access for certain things that I need, when I need them. From the lockscreen, there are really only a few things that I wanted to be able to do (and Widgetlocker helped me achieve all of them):

1) See a bigger clock, as well as be able to click on the clock and go straight to the desktop clock (I'm currently using the Tron clock downloaded for use with Beautiful Widgets, even though some numbers are hard to read. Just looks cool).

2) See the weather forecast for today (Even though I use Beautiful Widgets weather on one of my homescreens now, I still use the old weather app that I have on my phone, to see the specific weather for my location, which somehow doesn't really give "specific" enough information on Beautiful Widgets)

3) Unlock straight to the camera, video camera, or camera app (currently HDR is one that I'm using, which takes 3 pictures in a row and provides the best looking one out of the 3). This was achieved using the ICS unlocker added to the most recent Widget Locker update.

4) Keep my Pacman theme unlocker specifically for unlocking the phone

5) Access notifications in the toolbar, straight from the lockscreen

6) Have the lock screen automatically rotate based on phone orientation.
