Help Widgets in Apps tab?

[JFriedman]

My new Nexus is collecting a growing number of widgets in the "Widgets" tab of the Applications page.

Most are shortcuts from webpages I've visied, thumbnails from various Nexus menus, etc.

I've tried the press, hold and slide approach but that's not getting rid of them.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

Should be a clear option in the settings somewhere

It's not websites you've visited, it's apps that you've downloaded that include Widgets. To get rid of them, the app must be deleted.

I know that's the usual source, but these appeared before I downloaded any apps. Most are bits and pieces of graphics from Android menus aloing with web page thumbnails. One is a "Play" arrowhead from some video source! Also, bookmarks from websites I visited. Many do nothing when touched.

I guess it's no biggy, I'm just trying to brainstorm the logic (if any) and learn how ot deal with it.
