Help Widgets Shrinking?

I know this may be a stupid question since I dont really know the workings of widgets and all.

I was on a flight out of the country (USA) and I noticed my widgets (beautiful widgets - home, stock google calender, stock news, and facebook) all shrank a bit. I was on airplane mode.

Also, since the wifi at the place Im staying is horrible (might be worse than 56k in some ways), my widgets have shrank there as well.

Everytime I see those slightly smaller widgets, I just remove them and add them again but they still shrink.

Is this because lack of data? Just want to confirm.

That's very peculiar. As far as I know, widgets should not shrink with the stock launcher. Now with some launchers, such as Launcher Pro, you can actually resize widgets, but it shouldn't be doing it on its own.

They shrink if the home screen goes into landscape mode, which can happen if you use car mode, and on my N1 sometimes they didn't come back out of it again. I used to start car mode and exit it again to fix it.
