Widgets

Does anyone know if there is a way in the widget menu to group the widgets for the same app, so i dont always have to scroll through a long list of widgets.

That's not what he means. That's grouping apps. He wants the widgets themselves to be grouped so when you add a widget, you don't see "Live Sports 4x1" "Live Sports 4x2" "Live Sports 1x1" - you see "Live Sports (3 widgets)" then tap that to get a sub menu of the choices.

To the OP, go here:

[App] AppWidgetPicker - xda-developers

Follow the instructions to install it. You need root, but it does exactly what you want. It should be a stock Android feature, IMO.

I was just going to post this but you beat me to it. :D

Here's a shot of the Widget Picker:

Ahhhh.......now that I carefully read his question, I see the difference :) And thanks for the info, that is a nice way to group the widgets (not apps) :D

I hadn't finished my coffee yet.....excuse my pre-caffeinated answer

Cool! I was always annoyed about scrolling past the 10+ widgets for one app, but it was never so much of an annoyance that I looked for anything to fix it. This will be a nice addition to get rid of one of the remaining Android annoyances.

this is the one thing that should be stock on android. there are apps out there with 15+ widgets....its getting rediculous. i have the AWP.apk on my phone for any ROM that does NOT use it, just so i dont have to go too long without it.

This does look like a nice little app. :) Isn't it amazing how lazy we all get! :p;)

I am no different, apparently!

The first time I went to set up Handcent, I thought, wow, nice app, but soooo many settings!

But the number of customizations and options available in Android devices is just an example of what makes them so great!

Agreed, however, that this app just groups things for easier selection. :D
