Help Wifi & bluetooth

It means you remove all the carrier crap and flash it with the latest UK Generic firmware, and yes it will.

But why would they need to do that with a new phone to make it work? It kinda defies logic to me...

Void your warranty on a new product to make it work like it should out of the box

The carriers should be releasing the latest FW as soon as it's available but they don't, leaving their handsets running old FW which are known for causing battery issues and other issues. My phone was bought as a T-Mobile handset from ebay, first thing I did was look to debrand, and the only reason I bought a branded handset in the first place was because I got it cheap.

The problem isn't SE or the phone, it's the carriers, and debranding to a generic FW means you aren't stuck waiting for them to update the FW.

But since ****20 the firmware was good, then ****23 came along and that is when I rooted as I was on *****16.

I went up to *****26 when I could but rolled back to 23 as I had wifi issues and apparently the wifi bug was ported back into build 26??? Just what I have read.

In a way the problem is the phone and SE as they released the phone with bugs and now it's the carriers fault for not updating the mistakes SE made.

Also why aren't SE forcing the carriers to release the updates as from what you say if every X10 was on *****26 the phone would be issue free, which leads onto a whole new thread?

Which bug? I've not had any real issues using wifi.

To a degree, this is their first phone with running Android, but with each update the phone has been greatly improved.

Why would they? They clearly have enough issues from customers as it is in regards to 2.1.

Well I run 2 company's and if there was bad reviews going on the net about either of them I would do everything in my power to put that right.

If they went to the hassle of coding the new updates then why not go to the hassle of getting them released, (2.1 aside as that is due soon) they only need one person to contact the carriers to ask them to push them out so that the phone is up to date and to make the phone better for the masses.

Also there seems to be lots of people getting issues like the OP with some even getting 3 exchanges or more then going for another brand altogether. How much does this cost the carriers? Obviously not as much as it does to brand a firmware update...
