So my friends are using a Samsung Galaxy phone, and every few seconds (randomly between 15 seconds and 3 minutes) the phone takes you to settings and displays this message "for security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from google play." Above it is the logo for an app named wifi booster. I cannot figure out where this app is trying to download from. Searches in the Google play store and Samsung store did not find any apps with the same name and logo. How do I remove this app or cancel the download? It seems like malware so I am hesitant about allowing it to install and then removing it.

I think it's an app trying to download some malware. Go to System settings > Apps > Downloaded tab to see if you can find any suspicious apps.

Also: did you download any non-playstore (and non-samsung store) apps? All the play store apps should be checked for malware, so the others are suspects for this.

^^This.
If you can't find anything, go to phone's Settings, Applications, scroll across to ALL and clear data in every browser app or apps that use the Internet (like Facebook etc)
