Help Wifi Connection Issue Question

Catlin

Lurker
I've had my m8 for about right at four months now and I've never really had a problem. About a week and a half ago, my home wifi became faulty and stopped working for all of my home devices. They would display that there was wifi connection, but there was no actual Internet connection found. I talked to someone in a support store and they suspected our router had a virus and to run an antivirus scan, and if the problem persisted to invest in a new router. So one new router later, all other devices connected to the router are working. But, my phone is still telling me I don't have an Internet connection. I've restarted my phone, tried resetting my wifi connection and just about everything I can think of to no avail.

Welcome to the forums Catlin. Have you tried a hard reset? This will delete all your data and apps but it gives you a factory fresh phone. To hard reset your M8 try one of the following;

Note: A factory reset may not permanently erase all data from your phone, including personal information.

Performing a factory reset from settings
Go to Settings, and then tap Backup & reset.
Tap Reset phone.
If you want to delete media, documents, and other data from the phone storage, select Erase all data.
To also delete media and other data from your storage card, select Erase SD card.
Tap OK.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons
If you can’t turn HTC One on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC One.

Important: The Fast boot option in Settings > Power must not be selected.
Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.
