Help Wifi Connection Problem

Just got the EVO 4 and everything seems to work OK, except that my PC (Windows 7, 64 bit) cannot see it when I connect to my home wireless network. The EVO 4g says it is connected to my network OK, but the phone doesn't appear as a device or drive anywhere on the network where I can see it. USB connection works OK.

Any suggestions?

What would your PC see? What router do you have?

I have Linksys WRT54G. I had assumed I could use Wifi to connect to my PC, but it seems likely here that this is not possible and that the Wifi function is only for connecting the phone to the internet, which seems to work OK. I can connect using the USG cable OK.

It's been many many moons since My networking days.
But if I remember right... In order to see a client on the network you have to have a common protocol installed. And I do not think cell phones have client for Microsoft networks. And that would be why you can not find it on the network.
