Help Wifi connection problem

I have a HTC Desire HD A9191 phone. Before I can easily connect with my wireless internet at home but after I came back from a trip I noticed that my phone does not have the wireless icon at the top so I checked if I turned off the wireless connection, I didn't. My problem is after that my wifi network can't be picked up by my phone. It says "not in ranged" when I'm just standing next to the router. I tried turning off and on both wireless router and phone. My phone can pick up networks from neighbours and I already tried clicking "forget" while hoping that my phone will pick up my network again but it doesn't work. Our mac comps at home can connect to the wireless router.

I also found the phone's WIFI connectivity is much weaker than the one of Tablet, especially when there are a lot of interfering wireless networks from the neighbors.

I also got the problem you mentioned once, I turned off the phone completely then start it again, and it solved the problem.
