Help Wifi cuts out

My wifi cuts out all the time lately. Usually it will reconnect but sometimes I have to manually do it and it's beyond annoying. I'm sitting 6 feet away from my router and it just did it again. I don't ever notice it doing it when I'm over at my neighbors on their wifi, so I wonder if it could be something with my router/settings or my phone?
 
Oh, how do I know if my PRL is the best one? I was reading that the newest one (3026 in this case) is not always the best one. How would I check and is there a way to do a speed test like the online ones for pc's? And is there a way to check call quality or do I try one and call someone over and over till I find out?
 
Forgot to say I got a WiFi Manager from the market and uninstalled the metro easy WiFi and have had no more problems. Backed it up with Ti.
