Help WiFi "Disable" problems

ens0920

Lurker
Hello,
I recently have been having issues with my LG Optimus V; I have had no issues connecting to WiFi at my home until last week. All of a sudden, when I try to connect, it will look like it is connecting, then just say "Disabled". I have also had this issue at another place before (I was able to use it for about a week there before it started saying "Disabled") I have tried forgetting the connection but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to AF! :)

I'll move your post to the Optimus V section where users of the device may be able to assist.

You've already done what I would suggest, forget the connection then re add. You could also try adding the information (SSID etc) manually?

Sometimes you need to turn both the phone and the router off at the same time. Wait 5min. then turn them both on at around the same time. If still having a problem, try selecting the activate app a couple of times.

You can also change the channel on your router. There is a program called SSIDer for your computer or Wifi Analyzer (among others) for your mobile. It scans and tells you the best options for channels. If there are a lot of people in your neighborhood expect 6 to be the worst and 1 and 11+ to be the best.

Thanks everyone for your help! I did try rebooting the phone and the router with no success. I also tried a factory reset, same thing. But manually entering in the IP address and whatnot seemed to do the trick for me. Thanks again!
