Help Wifi Disables

I know lots of questions have been asked about wifi for this phone but I still haven't found a problem quite like mine.

I have an HP Touchsmart. I also have a wireless router. The awesome thing is that I don't have to plug my router into my HP, it wirelessly finds it. Now, my phone, on the other hand, does not think it's so awesome. Because while all my other devices in my house can connect to my router (Wii, Roku and 3 Laptops), my phone (and Nintendo DS) cannot.

I have put in the passcode after the wifi connection has been found, it will authenticate but then disable, authenticate, then disable, then disconnect ... The cycle starts all over again. Any ideas of what I can do to get it to connect? Thanks for any help coming.

By the way, my phone is not rooted or anything ... Its straight from the box.

Can open a command window if in Windows and type IP Renew while connected to the router. This may fix your problem. Have you tried restarting the router? Also, some routers only allow for up to7 total connections between wired and wireless so keep that in mind.

Sounds like a problem I had at work a while back.
I connected my phone to the network so I could remotely access the systems, but like you, it cycled between authenticating and connecting.
I found out later I needed a static IP, because any IP my phone would receive was already in use
Since you said you have several devices connected this might be the case as well. You could simply d/c some items, or look into setting a static IP address
