WiFi disconnecting

My boost mobile moto g, for some reason will not stay connected to WiFi. I will connect it to WiFi, and as soon as I leave settings, it returns to 3g connection. Could it be the McAfee security app I have installed, or something else?

Two options that might help:
Turn mobile data off and see if you still loose WiFi.
WiFi Settings - Advanced - Uncheck Avoid poor WiFi connections.

Not sure about McAfee.

I don't see how turning off mobile data would help. Every time I connect to wifi I am connected for 3 seconds then I lose connection. I been having to use data and it's been 5 days and I already reached my cap into the month. Do you think a factory reset would fix this problem?

It's still disconnecting after disabling the poor WiFi connections option? When that's enabled it will disconnect when you don't have a good WiFi signal.

Something else that may or may not work but is worth a try - "forget" the WiFi connection, then reconnect and renter the password.

If you think it's related to McAfee, have you tried disabling McAfee then connecting to WiFi?

A factory reset would be the next step if nothing else works.

Nope... Just lost it while typing.
Disconnecting and reconnecting I've tried a million times. Nothing. I don't know if it's McAfee or not. They did always disconnect me when I was on an open wifi connection so I'll try that.

6 days onto my billing month, I used 2 GB of my data.

I had the same problem after getting McAfee app...remo ed it and problem solved!

I have run into that problem too, I found out thought that it has more to do with "tweaking" software like Pimp My rom or other apps that mod code. Best thing to do if you did that is do a factory reset and don't mess with anything having to do with wifi, 3g or other data connections.
