Help Wifi doa

Just checking to see if anyone else has a problem with the wifi. Mine disconnected and would not reconnect.....Fast forward....after 2 hours of troubleshooting and lame tech support...Ifinally had no choice but to wipe and reset the phone, and I'll be damned if it isn't working.....very odd . I'm gonna have to take it back to metro. tech said he had one other customer with same problem and was issued a replacement. anyone else?
 
Mine connected once then after shutting off the screen and waking it back up it lost connection. I had to 'forget network' and reboot the phone and reconnect and it worked.
Interestingly enough, my wifes phone did exactly the same thing - we just picked up both our phones today. She did the same sequence i just explained and hers started working again.
 
i guess im just one of the lucky ones hahaha...

never had an issue with the wifi other than it being a little quirky when putting in a password to connect to a secure network.

did any of you guys root?
 
I am having an issue with the wireless internet as well it just says "obtaining ip" and it doesnt connect. now sometimes i get message saying network unavailable please correct or something like that which I thought it might be with my service because my brother didnt pay the bill and i called metro everything is cleared up but this message still comes up i tried forgetting the wireless spot and resetting it but still no luck
 
I noticed this the other day. At home my wifi works fine because I know the password and know it's guaranteed to work (tested at my friend's house and works fine also). At school, whenever I try connecting to the open wifi it gets caught in a loop of obtaining IP address and dropping out. For those of you experiencing problems, is this a similar encounter? Private networks are connecting but public aren't? Also I am rooted. Tested private before root and it worked, but not public after root.
 
this is what i did
i forgot the network i was trying to connect to i turned off wifi
then went to settings, mobile networks, system select checked automatic
rebooted and then it all worked good for me and connects to internet with no issues now
 
did anyone ever figure out what to do to fix this? seems like a common problem among the connects. mine worked fine from day 1 i did no updates or configurations and now it wont hold a wifi connection. i have a feeling when i go down to corporate store today i will only be getting a replacement. right after i just got my phone the way i like it. if i was in a good 4g area getting 4mbps up/down i wouldn't care but since i only get 1 mbps up/down wifi is needed

** can we get a poll going of people with problems holding a wifi connection? im running zv8 but i read in another thread that updating didnt help the issue.
