Root wifi hotspot broke

Wifi hotspot just stopped working. No major changes to my phone, had been using it fine until yesterday. When wifi hotspot is switched on, 3G disconnects and error message occurs. The app used is Wi-Fi Hotspot which comes stock on Harmonia. Also tried other tethering apps on the Store, same results.

I don't understand why you're not using the integrated tethering, instead of using an external app. It should be in Settings>Wireless>More>Tethering & Portable Hotspot

I've actually been wondering if this costs money, despite being rooted. Without root, would it just not allow you to tether? If that's the case, and root gives it the freedom to tether, then it should be totally free.

Edit: The stock tethering feature does not work... It turns off 3g and 4g when you try to tether. As for the original question, someone else might be able to help I'm not sure

Mine doesn't have tethering& portable hotspot , its called sprint hotspot on mine and turning it on in settings is the same as turning it on through the app
