Wifi Hotspot details

Virgin mobile is saying something about charging an extra 15 a month for mobile hotspot & tethering... Does anyone have any further info on this? I have a Triumph and I currently use it to teather data to my tablet. I don't wan't to start having to pay for this feature. Does anyone know if there is a way around this with custom roms or w.e?

The only phone that Virgin officially allows to tether is the Evo V. Use of any other phone for tethering is against the TOS,

HTC phones block most wifi tether apps. If you're looking to tether without paying and without rooting then you can try and sideload foxfi and tether via Bluetooth otherwise USB tethering should work.

I know they don't "Allow" it, but there are plenty of us who have custom roms installed that do it anyway.

And I intend to root it as soon as I get it and probably rom it shortly thereafter, I would love to see some roms with built in tethering such as AOKP...

well if youre gunna root it then it doesnt matter if its built in or not, theres countless wifi tether apps on the market for root users. but most roms i see do come with it.
