Help WiFi hotspot pretty broke

naujoks

Newbie
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I've connected various devices (laptop, iPad) to my Nexus via Wifi hotspot tethering, but the connecting is completely unreliable and no data comes through for very long times, making it pretty useless.
It works fine over USB.

Working fine here. I've used it to connect my iPad 2 and my MacBook Air without any issues (usually about a half hour at a time). No dropouts or disconnects. Battery drops quickly, of course.

My FoxFi Wifi Hotspot app which worked perfectly before the OTA ICS update on my Droid Bionic, now will not engage. It says, Wifi Hotspot failed on this device, try Bluetooth DUN instead, but that will not work either.

I am desperately seeking a VZW free Wifi hotspot app that works now. Good luck and keep us posted of your successes.

thanks

michael

You can try fattin. I have 2 tethering apps on my phone.

I use wifi hotspot to my N7 constantly. Sometimes for a few hours. I used to have problems but since 4.1 tethering has been very reliable. When I used to have problems it was the constant switching between 3g and 4g. But now my 4g is consistent.
