Root Wifi Issue

My vibrant gets stuck at "obtaining IP address" and then will just never connect. Anywhere I try it it will not work (home, work, starbucks, etc). Doesnt matter if its an open network or a secured one. I've done alot of searching online but still can't seem to find an answer.

Most devices having trouble with more than one router IP address connection have kernel issues (rooted devices with flashed ROM and kernel).

Is your device rooted?
 
Yes it is rooted running stock ECLAIR.UVJI6 - 2.1-update1

I have not flashed any roms to this phone yet.
