Help Wifi Issues after lollipop

Ever since updating to lollipop, my Wifi has been having weird issues. It won't load images from gfycat in baconreader and generally has trouble loading any images from the internet. It won't sign in to any online services(facebook, etc) from apps, and it won't load images or update within the facebook app.

It also won't give me all my notifications. They will stack up on the network or something and when I switch back to LTE I get a bunch at once.

Power off. Volume down while powering on.

Go to hboot page and from there, recovery. Wipe cache. Reboot system.

Wifi settings, Menu, advanced - options have changed. See what looks wrong to you.

Developer options - nuplayer - uncheck it, reboot.

If problem still exists but only on your home wifi, login to your router from your pc.

Find dns settings, take a screen shot.

Change primary and secondary to -

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

A lot of dns servers have gotten borked coincidentally at the time of this update - and the dns problem / fix has been reported as good for several models, several brands, and includes people who haven't updated anything.

Anyway - any or all of that could be a problem (either this one or one you haven't noticed yet) so go for all of your solutions listed.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestions, but it turns out it may be my router as other people in my home are having wifi issues on their devices. Unfortunately, I can't change the DNS for the router as there is no option to change it, and I am not rooted so I can't change the DNS on my phone which would be the other option.

It just turned out to be a coincidence that the Wifi issues got worse after upgrading to Lollipop.

Motorola NVG589.

I did find the advanced wifi option to set the DNS server, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I even tried setting the IP allocation to static, and using WPS.

So far, one app was able to connect to it's service, just tried it again to confirm, and it acted like I just started it for the first time. gfycat gifs still don't work from BaconReader, facebook didn't want to load images or update, so I guess it was a fluke.

I lowered the MTU from 1500 to 1472 on my router. So far so good. I read about DNS issues, IPv6 issues, router-specific wifi issues and MTU issues with AT&T's Uverse network, and that mtu change has seemed to fix it so far. Hopefully it isn't another fluke like before.
