Hey everyone, Im new here but I could really use some help.

My Galaxy S3 will not connect to any WiFi. It either tries, and tells me "network disabled because internet connection is slow", or it gets to "obtaining IP" and then just stops, or says "failed to obtain IP".

I have tried most solutions, including unchecking "Auto network switch" (which was already off because my phone does not have a SIM card), entering the hidden menu and unchecking the wifi power saver option, Ive restarted, taken out the battery and factory reset a number of times, but to no avail.

The only thing I havent tried is resetting the router because they are my neighbor's open networks.
There are two different connections, and both work fine, and fast on my laptop.

My phone was rooted (at least partially, because the su binary was not installed for some reason, and because of that, busybox wouldnt install). Also, I dont know if they are connected, but I had installed luckypatcher, and applied patches to a couple apps for in-app purchases, that was the same day I started experiencing these issues.

So thats about all I can think of right now, I would really, really appreciate any help and suggestions you guys could give.

Trust me brother, I wouldnt if I werent so poor. But regardless, I was more-so just curious and decided to give it a try, it didnt even work, so I stole nothing.
Cool cool but I'm poor and I still have my bank card linked to the play store but I'll admit, until about 2+a half years ago when I started chatting to app and rom Devs etc I used to run a lot of cracked apps so I'd be a hypocrite if I held it against you mate.
As for your problem, I don't have a clue lol sorry :thumbsupdroid:

Try talking to your neighbour and asking them if they can reset their router? If they're kind enough to let you use their connection, they might be kind enough to reboot it for you. Unless they don't know.

If that's the case and you're stealing it, there's not really much we can do to help.

There is no password on the connection, its not like I hacked into a protected connection. Honestly, I wouldnt even have a problem asking if it were okay if I knew who it belonged to, but being in an apartment building makes it sort of difficult to narrow down. Really guys, Im just working with the best I got, being in a really tough spot. Im not a bad guy, which is what it feels like you guys are trying to make me out to be.

The idea of it being an issue with the router seems a little unlikely to me, because I cant see both routers from two different connections starting to flop like this at the same time. Really, if anyone could give me some idea of what I could do locally, with the phone, thatd be great.

Why don't you reset your phone? And see if it works. Many problems are solved by just resetting the phone.

Just have a look in the wifi settings. Advanced settings and make sure that your wifi is not set to static. It should be dhcp.

It didn't work because you need root. If supersu didn't install binaries it's because your not rooted. But anyways, have you tried using Odin to read install the stock firmware? Start fresh. And stay away from lucky patcher (likely the cause of your trouble) . Most good apps are like 2 bucks. And you keep them for all future android devices, granted you are on the same Google account.
Also look for a setting that says aggressive WiFi data handoff, or something similar in wifi/advanced. Uncheck it.
They may have seen you on their network and disabled your phone (Mac address) from their end.

It doesn't matter if there's no password or not. You're taking something you didn't pay for without consent and you've used it to pirate apps/IAPs via luckypatcher.

I genuinely don't believe you're a bad guy, and everyone could do with a little more cash, but that doesn't excuse theft.

Any issues with the lock, please feel free to drop me a PM.
