Quite Frankly I am just biding my time till Verizon's new phones come out. I like this phone and for 25 bucks a month, it is GREAT! But a few quirks are starting to piss me off. It seems like my wifi is not staying on consistently unless i am holding it and actually using the phone.

Case in point. I am emailing a friend and the phones works fine when I am actually operating it. I type th email out and hit send. It sends

THEN

the screen goes out, i place it on the table or bed and just chill till i expect a reply. Except Gmail gets the reply on my mac but on my phone it doesnt get a reply.

So i pick up the phone, turn the screen on and unlock it and the wifi icon is not there but as soon as I start typing or opening an app, it reappears

IDK

It's a powersaving "feature"(well it is to me sometimes), most Android devices default to powering down WiFi when the screen blanks, i.e. sleep.

I don't have my phone handy or another device ATM but there should be a setting under WiFi, might be under the advanced menu or maybe long press the AP and scroll through the options, should be called something like powersave.

(I've had to do this to my Archos A43IT when using it w/Tune In Radio as recent fw updates it's started shutting down w/screen blanking which is kind of useless in that sort of application...)

Go to menu-settings-wireless and networks-wifi settings, press the menu key and click on advanced and select wifi sleep policy. You can then set how you want the wifi to turn off.

ha i feel dumb for complaining about this and i didn't know that it was a feature to save power

thank you
