Help Wifi Issues?

TheRegime

Lurker
I have the Note 2 on Rogers in Canada. I have my Wifi connected to my Shaw wireless router. It shows connected and shows the signal strength is very strong. I can surf the web and watch youtube without issues. But lately whenever I start to download apps from the google play store the download stalls at like 20%. My wifi still shows connected and no errors appear it just stops. Then if I open the internet while this occurs I get this webpage cannot display.

If I turn off wifi my 4g easily downloads and opens up the webpage. And if I disable then re enable my wifi it usually starts working again for a little while. Until i start a new download it does it again.

Is there any fix for this on the phone, in my wifi settings, anywhere? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi

In system settings>wifi>menubutton>advanced

Check that "keep wifi on during sleep" is NOT set to never. Otherwise it will turn off when your screen goes out and try to switch to data, which won't work during a download. Don't know if thats it, but it could be..

Also check the wifi timer is not set.

Check those settings and that wasn't the problem. Maybe its a problem with my wifi is there anyone who knows what settings I should set my router to make sure it doesn't time out when downloading. It seems to only cut out when I download files on my phone over 30mb. It downlpads them fast for half way then timesnout and stalls.

Please help.

What I did was went to settings then Wi-Fi-->Disconnect from your Network and press "Forget" Then reconnect Enter your Wi-Fi WEP passcode-->Then go down to "IP Settings" and choose "Static" Instead Of DHCP. Then enter your settings IP address Gateway Etc. (If you don't know your settings then just put in what's highlighted in grey in those areas) Never had another issue since :)

Hope this helps.
