Help Wifi keeps turning on

Hi,

I've recently changed phone carrier and one thing I've noticed is that when I go to turn off the wifi it then turns back on again.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Not sure if related but if you use an app like Lookout with the phone finder on, it'll turn wifi on whether you like it or not.

No, I don't have that app on my phone. I do have Avast. Not sure if that matters.

Maybe a good idea to check if it has a similar feature enabled and if so, see what happens if you turn it off.

Don't know what carrier you use, but Sprint's connection optimizer will turn wi-fi on automatically. Settings>Networks>More>Mobile Networks>Connections Optimizer. Uncheck the box.

I don't know who Sprint are but I don't have the connections optimizer. Does anyone have any solutions?

I am based in Luxembourg using a Lux phone carrier.

Check out "Permission Explorer"

Slide over to permissions, and look for the CHANGE_WIFI_STATE category.

If it's an app doing it, it'll be under there.

If you're going by your power history monitor and not by the status bar icons, it could very well be broken and you'll want to try the graph in GSam Battery Monitor to see whether it was on or not.

Go to Settings - Wi-Fi - Advanced Wi-Fi.
Uncheck the Wi-Fi notifications and scanning boxes.
