hi yall,

I am thinking of getting an Eris from someoneand using it without Verzion network. can it use WiFi or I have to activate eris in order to add verzion data plan ?

As far as I know, you can do this. I know they did this with the phones before they were available from carriers just to test them out. Someone could very easily prove me wrong however.

It should work fine. Just set the phone in Airplane Mode indefinitely so its not searching for a mobile network connection it can't use and wasting battery. It will still connect to wifi and use GPS in Airplane mode.
