Wifi: Pda.net & FoxFi

I recently upgraded to the Note2 from Razr Maxx. I use to use FoxFi all the time for free Wifi Tether without the root. Recently PDA.net I believe bought FoxFi out not 100% sure.

Problem: When I open PDA.NET now I notice I use my Mobile Data, is there any other program out there that I can use to create a WiFi Tether to another device and NOT use my mobile data or pay extra fee per month?

No matter how you tether, it uses your mobile data

Otherwise, you don't get any data in the tethered device

Even if you root its still going to use your mobile data.

Using usb tethering though uses less than a wifi tether.

Just received the update for Foxfi, and it says the wifi hotspot is working. Anyone have any problems with this?
