Help wifi problem - hardware or software issue?

I have a wifi problem on my tab2 where after a fresh reboot, it will work fine for about a day and then the wifi will keep disappearing - not just disconnecting but becoming not available. I have installed wifi fixer which seems to restore it and it works until the next occurrence. The amount of time between these occurrences seems to reduce until it cant restore the wifi and i have to reboot. Does this sound like a hardware issue or software - I am on the stock 4.2.2 and wondered about trying the cyogenmod 4.2.2 or even later build but dont want the hassle if its a hardware issue as it will be exactly the same on that.

I dont know the cause but if it always works after a reboot (even if briefly) I suspect it is a software issue. If the hardware fails it usually does not respond to rebooting.

In my opinion it is directly related to the 4.2.2 software. I has the same issue after update to 4.2.2. Flashing back to 4.1.2 solved the wifi issue completely.
