Help WiFi Problem

Everything with the Inspire was going pretty good and even got the sideload update today but when I was downstairs watching TV I noticed my WiFi was not connected. Upon further inspection it looked like the WiFi was going in and out. It would allow me to load Google and then disconnect or check my email and then disconnect. It would show back up after like 45 seconds to 1 minute.

Router is fine because I am connected to it on my laptop and typing this right now. I reset the router and changed the channel just in case.

Also, I noticed while I was downstairs that holding the Inspire a certain way could almost knock off all the WiFi bars. So does this phone have a weak WiFi adapter or is this the sign of a bigger problem?
 
I noticed a WiFi setting buried in the advanced settings. It is called something like 'Best WiFi Performance'. I turned it on to see if the WiFi range increases. It looks like it could consume more battery.

The distance between the router and downstairs/my room is not huge but maybe if this phone has the capability to vary signal strength it could be using weak signal to save battery unless this setting is checked. Just a guess though...
