WiFi problems on my Desire

Don't no if this will help but I will throw it in to the pot anyway. I was having real problems last week with getting streaming to work on my desire via Wifi (router is Dratek 2600). Eventually tried the nuclear option from a security point of view which was to set up my phone in a DMZ. Since then have had no problems with wifi or streaming.

Send my regards to Denmark by the way, I used to live in Ballerup outside Kobenhavn.

What do you mean by setting up your phone in a DMZ? And I'll say hi next time I'm in Ballerup;) I don't get out there much though... Especially now when it's too hot to move.

I am anything but a expert so take this with a pinch of salt.

As I understand it putting one of the computers (or mobiles) on your network in a DMZ effectively places it outside of the firewall protection of the network. How you do this will vary from router to router, on mine it is managed under the NAT settings. I believe there are some security implications and risks of doing this but what they are I am not sure.

Hope this helps.

Similar issues with my Linksys WRT610N if the "Network Mode" is set to "Mixed" AND the "Channel Width" is set to "Auto (20MHz or 40MHz)"

Setting the Channel Width to 20MHz works for me.

Setting the Network Mode to "Wireless-B/G only" also works but I'd prefer to run in Mixed.

Also, aren't you effectively in a "DMZ" just on the mobile network where you have a non-private IP?

My phone does the same now & then, I have to switch the router on & off to solve the issue, highly annoying but does the trick
