Help Wifi Question

at my school, they use open wifi networks, that don't need passwords to get into them, however they do need username/pass info through the browser...and I am having trouble getting to the username/pass page in Oprah mini
The phone is connected to the network, however the browser won't load any pages, saying check network settings..

how do i go about fixing this?

does the school use proxy server settings (it most likly does) check your browser options on a computer to see if they are and wat the settings are then copy those into your phone, then try to go to the password page

wifi settings > menu button > advanced > proxy

So i did a little search on the forums(should have done before i posted in the first place ) and i found the solution! Dolphin browser.
so far so goood! connects-->open browser-->login!

I don't understand why a good browser like oprah mini has problems with such a simple thing.(doesnt ever get me to the login page)
