Help Wifi reception fix?

Bosse

Lurker
I've recently bought a Galaxy SII and I like it very much. However, the wifi reception is just ridiculously bad. This is, to be honest, the only problem with this phone. Everything else is awesome. I also have an iPhone 3Gs and the difference is huge. If I walk more than 5 meters away from the router the reception drops from 100% to less than 50!

I know it's a known problem, I was just curious if anyone heard if there's coming a fix soon? :D

Nothing new. I have the same issues with my Nexus S. I suppose one can not get perfect when buying Korean products sort of like buying their cars.

Using a cheapo Belkin WiFi router at home and the signal is good.

However, I question the meter display as It seems to drop too quickly. I am still getting a WiFi signal 35m from the router even though it shows none on the screen.

It does seem better on my version 2.3.4 firmware.

You could try using a static IP for WiFi and see if that helps. :D
