Help wifi stinks

I've had great luck with the wifi (except for switching between 4G and Wifi). Sometimes I take the dog for a walk and forget to turn the mobile data on. I've had the phone pickup my home (FIOS) internet signal from across the street and two houses down. Now my router is in the front of my house by a window but still a good range.

Switching to the cellular network from wifi thats another story

I've noticed this a lot with Android Phones.

My router is in my bedroom, right beside my bed and

I've noticed with my
Droid Charge
Xperia Play

and older phones
Vibrant
Aria
Evo
and more

that the wifi signal is not the best.

I have never had this issue with WP7.

I wonder is it an android thing. I mean it doesn't seem to affect the speed too much but it does make me curious

I have no issues and connectivity isnt a problem. Router problems maybe?

Seeing the same crappy Wifi strength and connection issues as well. 3G singnal strength is week at the house and the phone thinks my in home Wifi is weak as well.

Is it a Samsung, Droid or Verizion issue? Anyone rooted a phone and fixed the issue?
