Hello,

Well since I can connect my pc and macs to my wifi tether I was wondering can you connect to xbox live with your wifi tether? I can't directly so is there a different way then? I have the xbox 360 slim

You should be able to, as long as you have a model with WiFi capabilities. Just don't be surprised if your connection is laggy.

I tried doing that ,but it didn't work so i called xbox and this guy and i spent 2 hours trying to find a way to connect it to xbox ,but nothing work. i don't think xbox's can connect through ad-hoc networks ,which is what androids use i think. Any other suggestions?

User Masterchief3k discussed using his phone as a internet connection for his xbox in this thread.

It sounds like he has an older model that predates the current systems with built in wifi, so his method uses a wired tether. Essentially if you have a computer with an Ethernet port you can turn it into an Ethernet bridge to share a internet connection. As others have mentioned unless you have a good 4g connection your game play is going to have a good deal of lag. My internet was down for a day and I tried to use the 3g connection of my phone to play with my ps3 online, the connection was too slow to enjoy any games. If your xbox does have a wifi adapter then you should have no issue connecting it to your phone if you have Wifi Tether installed and your phone is rooted.

I have wifi tether installed, but i cannot even connect to xbox live. What settings did you have on to connect to xbox live?

You have many options to do this, I did this in desperation. (When moving and stuff LOL)

Disclaimer: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU BEING OUTRAGED AT THE BAD CONNECTION YOU'LL PtherROBABLY HAVE. IF AT ANY TIME YOU WANT TO DESTROY YOUR PHONE, XBOX, OR ANY OTHER PROPERTY OR BEING DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. LAWS STILL APPLY.

1. Wifi tether your phone into a PC. Learn how to 'bridge connections' (you'll need an ethernet cable). Test xbox live connection and big success.

2. Wifi tether your phone to your xbox using same wifi settings you use on your PC.

Note: I actually did play successful games on my xbox with my connection using my phone, specifically BFBC2 and BF3. Games such as CoD require NAT types to be open which we CANNOT do, thus our phones being unfit to eliminate some lag sometimes. I did manage to play games with no lag and good connection with full reception, however sometimes all I could do was talk in party chat most of the time with no lag.

Change Device-Profile ------> Generic ICS?JB (wlan0)

Routing Fix [x]

And that's it. Make sure to allow encryption (a password basically) so no one gets on your hotspot. Funny thing I wifi tethered in my highschool class to let a cute girl get on her ipod touch. Next thing I know 4 other mac addresses tried to connect.

Thanks I shall try the second one tonight... I really just want to be able to join party chat ,but thanks.

it still won't let me.. do you have an adhoc network on? I an connect with my mac or pc ,but wifi to xbox won't work...

Well connected to my pc through my phone gave me slower than dial up speeds Is thre any other settings that you had on?

Well what I'd recommend is force closing anything in your phone that uses data. After you've done that go ahead and do the same for your PC that includes disabling automatic system updates. If you're still getting unbearable speeds that's because your VM area or signal is bad.

It is something different one user tried to help me ,but we couldn't get it t work ,but what settings does the guy have on?

So can someone make a video or instructions on how to do this?
Thanks,

Can someone else try to connect to xbox live? I flashed the harmonia rom and am using wifi tether...

I do not own a xbox 360 but the following settings in the wifi tether app work with my ps3.

In Device-Profile change to "Generic ICS/JB(wlan0)"
ensure that WiFi-driver reload is checked
Check the box to enable routing fix

When a device attempts to connect to your wifi hotspot your phone will prompt you with a notification. Check the notification and it should show a device id, select enable and the device should now have an internet connection.

Yes it works with my mac and everything ,but not my xbox hmmm. I have those enabled ,but nothing. I heard xboxes cannot connect to adhoc networks...
