WiFi Tether for Root Users Not Working

Hey guys, I see a couple of different threads about this problem, but mines a little different.

WiFi tether for root users opens on my phone but doesn't display in the networks on my computer or any other computers.

This is on a Samsung Galaxy SIII.

I have gone into the phone wifi and tether settings and tried to set the tethering to 'on' also, but since I'm through US Cellular and I don't have tethering actually enabled through my plan, it continues to shut off.

This is why I rooted, so I can use the rooted app.

Any idea was to what my problem may be?

I've changed my SSID and password and such with no luck.

is it broadcasting the SSID?
did you give it SU permissions? permanent or temporary?
try clearing the data in the app and see if that helps.

It's not broadcasting, that's the whole problem, I can't find it on any laptop or netbook or tablet of any sort.

It has permanent SU permissions and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app various times thinking that there might have been installation issues, no luck so far.

I have used other apps that are root apps that work fine, so I don't think that's the issue at this point.

There are two versions of that app, the only one that I have ever been able to get to work has a green wi-fi logo not yellow. The play store sometimes has it, and sometimes dont. Go figure.

I've had both multiple times unfortunately lol

I'll get rid of the yellow one and try the green again, there's two green ones though :D

Alright, got the green one, now I get the Tether started with errors, click log to show errors.

When I go to the log I get a 'file doesn't exist' message and there's no logs

Check the settings in the app itself, beyond that, ya got me!!:)
