Wifi tether issues. . .

In the past I was able to use Wifi tether with out any issues, and I could connect my laptop or tablet via wireless.

Currently wireless will not work and I have to connect via bluetooth. I am able to get an internet connection but bluetooth appears to be much much slower.

I am currently running ASOP 2.3.3 (aospCMod-20110314-signed)

Any assistance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Barnacle

Did you follow the barnacle set up instructions as per my instructions in my signature, report back

When I used barnacle, I could not connect at all. at least with Wifi tether I could connect via usb.

Great instructions FYI! unfortunately it did not work for me. I scanned and did not find the network, then I tried to manually put in the network and neither worked for me.

Also I notice if and when I use banacle it reboots my phone. I will try again, and I will verify I have USB debugging on (once my phone comes back up)

I am trying again now with a different channel just incase the one I was using was blocked or in use by another network.

OK, and also did you try the tethering feature that comes with 2.3.3, I will have to try it later on today as i have not tried the tethering as I have been really busy here, but will check it out later, also post on the XDA forum to see if any one else can pin point your issue there.

My tablet is the new Asus Transformer, so until I get the docking station I do not have the option of a USB cable :(

It was a good thought, but unfortunately won’t work for me.

Thanks much,

Brandon

my asus connects to wifi with out an issue, it just can not see the phone when it broadcasts.

Bluetooth how ever works with both.

You just said is....it can not see the phone when it Broadcasts.....
The phone is working fine.....your Asus EEE isn't seeing it.
I would monkey around with it....

It might annoy a few people but I went with easy tether. Simple and gets the job done. No wireless but it works great.

The free version only allows access to http sites but you need to purchase the pro version to go to https sites.

Worth the ten bucks for me.

Thanks for the efforts all, I will just use Wifi Tether in Bluetooth mode, at least it works for now. It is a bit slow but hey at least it works.

In a month or so when I pick up my new Evo 3d and I have 4g, then I can worry about making sure it all works properly :)
