Root Wifi Tether Softap Problem

ok,

I got Wifi tether and installed it fine but when I ran it it said "started with errors check log" the log file says "Starting Softap.... Failed" "Activating Wifi interface.... Failed"

My phone is 2.2.1 rooted with a stock rom. it loaded the wifi firmware fine enabled NAT and IP fowarding, and the final log say tethering is now running, but I dont see the SSID I even ran backtrack 4 and inSSIDer to see if it just wasnt braodcasting.

Any ideas?

I was going to use the opengarden one untill I found out it uses adhoc and my GF would drive me crazy everytime she wants to connect to it.

Ok never ind, I tryed open garden and it supports AD-hoc but I just connected and am on it right now without changing any IP settings at all.
