Root Wifi tether

I am running king's R5 and stock kernel. I tried the pre9 version and the new experimental version. I can get it to run and the computer will connect via wifi but it always tells me there is no internet connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It isn't often I need to tether but when I do it would be nice to be able to. All the guys with iphones in the office got theirs going in a few minutes and I never did get mine setup before the internet came back up.
 
So it turns out after doing some more research they hacked the sprint hotspot into the rom. Doing that must prevent the other tether from working because this one works fine.
 
Welcome to the forums! You should be able to use both. The sprint hotspot only allows 3g connections, not 4g. You wouldn't happen to have wifi turned on while attempting to use wifi tether, would you?
