Root Wifi Tether

What provider do you have? Mine is T-Mobile and the native tether app works fine. I haven't ever had to use a third party tether app so I cannot answer your question, sorry.
 
I have the Family mobile version, the native app will work. If you have somehow removed it let me know and I can upload the APK.

p.s. It's located under settings>more>:D:D
 
to use the wifi tether, you have to PAY for it, until someone cracks the rom. on my esteem i had that problem, to use wifi tether you had to pay metro, then i installed a cfw and bam i could wifi tether, metro didnt know i was a hotspot. now with this phone i usb tether until a cfw with it comes out.

Actually, no I'm not. I'm also on the $60 plan because I was on the limited $55 plan and they had to bump me up. The thing I did do was freeze the stock 4G mobile hotspot app with titanium backup. Give it a try and see how it works for you.
 
I didn't have to freeze the native 4g app, but it does seem a tad slower than I'd like. Been trying some different things. Menny, if you're getting the Metro PCS upsell page, that's not the app. You have to either change your browser's use string to a mobile one (like Google spider) or use a vpn in addition to using a tethering app. I use a vpn because I run Netflix, and I haven't found a user string that it would play nice with.
 
After trying out several different methods, the best I've found is an app called BEETmobile. It worked right outta the box, and seems to give the best speed and stability. I use it in conjunction with Hotspot shield VPN.
 
Hell, tethering worked fine all day and now it's painfully slow and drops off, etc. I also noticed that just changing the browser string to Google spider doesn't get access anymore either. Maybe something changed?
 
Both BeetMobile & FoxFi worked great for me on metro til today. Not sure what happened but nothing is working
 
found "portable wifi hotspot free" it works 1 click, no access control, channel select or 2g but it works flawless so far. its even called "nsa surveillaince van" on ssid, ha!

I probably wouldn't tether often because I've got good wifi in my locations, but its important in those few times.


Is the summary of the thread that no one who knows how to tether on the Mpcs unlimited, or at least is keeping it secret?

If you've got your phone rooted on M2BUPBO software update then all you have to do is go into gravity box and add a quick tile for wifi Ap and toggle it on, it works for me and doesn't give me a up sell page, idk if it will work for you but you could give it a shot

Hi everyone!
Sadly I lost my AOTF (Alcatel One Touch Fierce) this past Thursday.
But I'm happy to have upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S 5 (T-Mobile).

On my new phone I was having the same problem activating Wi-Fi tethering until I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kL3lhmIzQQ. I had bought that app for my AOTF but it had never worked.

I'm now curious to know it this app works applying the steps in this video to the AOTF .

Please post and let me know if you have any updates!
