wifi tether?

Oddly enough, Wifi Tether may REQUIRE encryption. At least it did with mine. Tried the Wifi Tether version on Google Play as well as the 3.3 beta2 version and both versions refused to broadcast any signal, UNTIL I enabled encryption. Then it worked fine.

That is what made it work for me along with the settings listed above.. weird you need to enable encryption... but what do i know. so it works with 3.3 beta 2

What kind of devices are you guys tethering? Doesn't work for me (trying to use my macbook) and it doesn't show the network at all.

Just worked for me! Had to start / stop / start the tether and then I connected. Then I had to add my laptop to authorized clients.

Yeah, I too have to do the start stop start thing most of the time. Also if you keep loosing connection or getting dropped off tether... Turn off all the location services to cure that glitch. Ex:GPS satellites, Google location services and the other one in that group.

Pad net + is a good option but I would recommended going to the all things root sub category at the bottom of this general fourm index and install awesome ROM. There is a post father down that is in all in one guide for root, drivers, recovery and other things. I would recommended using twrp instead of cwm. The current cm11 build is amazing but it has broken tethering at this point so I would highly recommended awesome ROM 2.9
