Help Wifi tethering isn't working

For some reason yesterday, it worked fine when I first tried it out but then later on when I tried again, it said "Unable to start tethering. Is your device rooted?"

well, did you root your phone? Thats probably the simplest place to start. If you gave more details, you'll get better answers.

Yes, I'm rooted... I have the superuser but when I hit the start wifi tetering it had no access to super user... then it says are you rooted...

It worked once and then it stopped working...
