Root WiFi Tethering not working

I am totally new to all of this, I rooted my phone using unrevoked. When I went to use wifi tethering my computer recognized the connection and would connect, but in the wifi teather app it didn't show any connected devices. I tried changing roms to see if that would help but still no luck. Currently I am running myn's warm twopointtwo. Please help!!!! Thanks

ITSRD, I experienced the same frustrating issue when I first rooted. I read, and read, and read but found no answer that helped me. However, while perusing Myn's thread I saw that Dougjamal was using 4G and had great results. I PM'd him to see what his setting were. He had me download the latest Wireless Tether (Ver 2.0.5) and see if that helped. The first time I tried it I got the old proverbial connected but no internet connection. My problem was I had Wi-Fi turned on and Wireless Tether will not let you tether that connection from my router. As soon as I turned off Wi-Fi and tried 4G it connected. I can also use Wireless Tether on 3G but much slower connection. I have had up to 5 devices connected to my EVO using Wireless Tether. So if you keep having issues I would stroll over to Myn's thread and PM Dougjamal for a little help. Sure hope you get your issue corrected.
 
Since you are using myns are you using the wifi tether app from the market or the sprint mobile hotspot that came with the rom? I believe myns has it so you can use the sprint hotspot without the monthly fee.

Have you tried both and get the same results?

What security are you using? Or is all this with no security?
 
So I tried the sprint hotspot app still doesn't work, it also won't connect to 4g while the app is running. Although it does show my computer as being connected. With wifi tether I tried different versions all with security turned off with the same results. Also I've noticed that web pages take forever to load in the phones web browser and it doesn't matter if I'm using 3g, 4g or wifi
 
I am having a nerve racking time with wifi tether, I am running mikfroyo 4.5 and have tried numerous apks for this app and still to no avail, I either get cannot connect, local only or limited connectivity, what's the deal with this?

I have the evo, and I have found that the very latest version of wif tether seems to work fine I got from google.code.com, although, I haven't had the opportunity to try it in a 4G area as of yet, but it does work.
