Ok so my 4g is faster then my house internet and I use my tethering to play my ps3 but I wanna make sure I have the best connection any advice

So since we can now speak about it again, what is the best tether app for the esteem? i just got one, I didnt wanna make another thread about it so i figured I'd hijack this one.

Well, since this ban on tethering discussion is lifted, there's 3 apps I've used, and I would recommend them all.
PDAnet: USB tethering app (not wifi) does not require root
Clockwork tether: nearly identical to PDA, I say this because I'm fairly certain PDA was released before CW tether. Downside for both these apps, they require software on the computer (this is so root isn't required) and they both expire after 14 days. PDA can still tether after this period but cannot access secure (https) sites. I still have 9 days left on CW so I don't know if this stops completely or like PDA and blocks certain sites.
The other app I've used is "Wireless Tether" this, as the name implies, is a wireless tether app, it requires root, and is completely free.
EDIT: downside to WT is that it drains the battery extremely fast (4g in constant use) and your phone may be prone to overheating if overused. My phone has reached temperatures of 43 celsius after a few hours.

on the buuid it .prop. there a portion that says denied tethering= true. i changed it to false and it works great =]

Does that do anything by itself? Like, when you choose "Internet Connection"does it automatically tether?

i use it with wifi tethering and it works perfect. before it would get slower and slower. but now its constant and pretty fast

Hm, I've never altered the build prop, and never noticed any slow down even on stock. Doesn't mean it wasn't there of course, just means I didn't notice it if it was lol
