Every time since I got root access I downloaded wifi tether and have been using it with xbox live. Now I have been having problems when I finish using wifi tether and I go to turn on the wifi (not the tether the wifi button to connect to my own home wifi) it turns off instantly every time unless i restart the phone. Any suggestions?

Nah. It sounds like Wifi Tether is causing it though. Have u tried killing WT when youre finished with it instead of rebooting?

I have the same problem using WiFi Tether for Root. It took over my router and I had to reset it. Then it wouldn't let WiFi start on the phone (Galaxy Reverb 4.1.2). I uninstalled the app and now its OK. USB Tether works well using PDANet but I can't get wireless to work. Seems like carriers would allow a workable WiFi Tether. When you reach your "unlimited" limit of 2 GB you get throttled anyway. For as infrequently as I need it, I won't pay for a separate broadband-to-go access point and plan. Follow the money I guess.

I've messed around with tethering on my rooted Galaxy Reverb. PdaNet+ works OK for USB and Bluetooth. Bluetooth was not too slow. It would do in a pinch. USB is pretty speedy. There is a Share WiFi mode on the PC Client (Windows). I haven't tried that yet, but it should allow other WiFi devices to connect to the PC as I understand it. I was sure I could find a wireless tether after rooting, but not yet. I've tried a number of them: SVTP, PdaNet+, Wireless Tether for Root 2.0.7 apk from android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting. I didn't try any of the betas. I think the problem has to do with iptables and dns resolution which may be part of the ROM? Any ideas let us know!
