Help wifi

Hey,

Just got this phone - LOVE. Yes, I am coming from an iPhone, and I can safely say even though I have only had the phone for less than 24 hours, I am now an android fan. I see the appeal, I really do.

However, my major beef with this phone is the wifi. My iPhone, as it can still use the wifi, gets a stronger signal and seems to be faster when I use the internet. The wifi signal is always 1-2 bars stronger than my GS2 no matter where I am. I posted in the AT&T forums, no response yet.

Now, I contacted Samsung, who told me to do a battery pull - which I did, (and it's so awesome having a phone where I can do that again) but it did not help. Upon further contact with Samsung via their livechat, they apologized for the problem, and then suggested I download an app for my GPS. (I have GPS turned off, it seems to keep the temperature down in the phone) When I asked how that would help, they said it would help my GPS run more efficiently, which kinda makes me think they are not going to be any help at all, as they could not explain what that had to do with the poor wifi signal.

So just to be clear, while yes, my iphone has a stronger signal, I would return the phone for an iphone as a last resort, I really don't want to! I use wifi a lot while I am home, and so I want the wifi to cooperate with this phone. Are there any suggestions or tips? I have tried google, the only thing I could find was lots of other people who seem to have had the same problem. :(

I noticed this as well. I believe it may be a common problem amongst SGS2 users. As reference, I also noticed that my nearly 2 years old Desire gains 1-2 bars more in wifi signal than my SGS2. Samsung may have just used a less than optimal wifi unit :/
