Root WifiTether Issues (Heat)

Was wondering if anyone knew why or what causes my wifi tether to sometimes heat up and drain battery all the way to power off w/ a blinking red dot... i did a factory reset and flashed supers updated rom...wifi tether worked g great couple days... now it's getting way too hot.. earlier phone read 140

yes ..i do run this phone like it got 8gb of ram lol...i downloaded foxfi/pdanet from hiapphere.com and you was right usb tether runs a lot cooler..thank you

May I ask how you got the hotspot, I only need it periodically

You might find your answer in this one or in another, there's been pretty good coverage on the topic.

I use tether for my desktop exclusively now, when, way back in the early day's didn't need it.

I find WiFi Tether works well, (I've tried the others).
Here's the settings to set (in the app, just check to select):

Generic - ics/jb (wiano) ...that's back in j.b. (jelly bean) of course
setup - auto
ssid - android tether
don't disable blue tooth
wifi driver reload
routing fix

In the phone/settings/wireless and networks:
wifi off
settings/ more/ mobile networks/data enabled
always on mobile data
connection optimizer off

that will get you the hotspot ability from the phone's side, using wifi tether, (may be the same settings on other apps).
