Help Wildfire stuck in boot menu

When I power on my phone, it doesn't boot, instead the boot menu appears but I cannot press the volume or power key whilst in the menu. This happened yesterday and eventually it booted on its own, but today I turned it off and when I turned it back on the boot menu appears. I took in into my local vodafone shop and the chap told me it was a software failure and he could send it away for me to be fixed or I could take it back home and download and re-apply the upgrade myself. There is no download to upgrade my phone on the HTC website. But I got it working yesterday so why can't I today? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi, Im too suffering the same fate with my wildfire. Turn it on, shows the bootloader menu but I cannot use the volume up and down to navigate the options so cannot get out of it.

Has anyone come across a fix for this?
