Will Alltel Desire get Froyo?

Since I'll be picking up a desire tomorrow evening, I am also interested in an answer for this question.
 
Me three. Got mine a few days ago. Perhaps one of us will have to call or e-mail alltel support.

I really want froyo for the bluetooth hands free support. I can't belive previous versions don't have this.
 
Also found this, Sounds like a rumor but if this store rep is right we might see really well constructed, usable 2.2 roms for our alltel desires by the end of Jan. Link is for USCC Desire owners just don't want to get anyones hopes up.

Depending on who you talk to, Alltel has released Froyo. It has to be flashed at a retail store. No stores in my area have it yet, but store ins NE and MI do have it and have flashed several customer phones.
 
Alltel in SC just released Android 2.2 Froyo update to the HTC Desire (Bravo) I love it. the only weird thing I noticed is the Marketplace is reverted back to the old Marketplace??? Other than that I love the update.
 
I live in S.C. and have Alltel, & a HTC Desire 2.1. I have not heard of them releasing 2.2 froyo. Would you mind letting me know what you did to get it, please?
 
I checked the Alltel website the other day and under support>-htc desire it says that there is an update for my phone and to take it to my local alltel store and a representative will assist me. Well I'm going to day, we will see what happens. These people don't seem very up to date on anything. -_-

Ask them to put it on your sd card too ;)
 
Alltel released froyo for desire in the first half of last year. You could not receive it OTA and I did not live in an area with Alltel stores. I got it by returning my phone for warranty replacement and getting a refurb. with froyo already installed. Unfortunately that opened up a whole other can of worms with problems with refurbished units. After much complaining I got a brand new desire with froyo preinstalled in late July. I've since updated with Verizon to the Droid RAZR.
 
ahh I didn't ask them to put it on my sd card. I didn't think of it and I just seen the reply lol. They did update it tho. Thank the lord, and it didn't take very long!
