Root Will Android read a ext3 formatted sd card?

So can it? If I format my card to ext3 will the phone be able to read it. I want to make a sym link to the internal storage on the sd card so all the apps will hopefully be able to use it. But fat32 doesnt support symbolic links...

I'm not sure. Format it, see if the phone reads it or not. If not, then put it back to FAT32. I'm not sure how it will do with a Journaled filesystem

Oh thats true, I didn't think about the journaling. I know that a journaled file system will wear out flash storage really quick cause of all the writes that go on behind the scenes. I wonder if ext2 would work...

Ill go try it with an old sd card...

are you trying to implement an apps2sd setup?
if you are, PM me....we have had one on the eris for a while that works wonders and uses an ext3 partition on your sdcard symlinked to /data/app
