Help Will "factory reset" break root?

For those of you wondering, stay tuned, i'm rooted and FR is in process

because su is kept in /system/bin/, and /system is basically overwritten entirely by the factory reset. With the atrix4g, I 'preserved' root a few times by hiding a copy of su on some other partition that was also mounted 'execute', but I fogot which one. They took that away from us with the gingerbread update. However, re-attaining root is so trivial, I wouldn't worry about it.

You are the first one that called it! Everybody else said root would be retained, lol. Not so much
