Will it have an LED notification light?

I'm willing to bet it does not have a notification light. iirc, none of samsung's phone have a notification light. The Nexus doesn't have one, so I'm thinking this one won't either...

Most of the galaxy s phones do not.. but the galaxy s2 phones have one..

Ah, that's right, the sprint sgs2 has a notification light. lucky bastards... lol

But anyways, looking at the history of samsung phones, i wouldn't hold my breath to see a notification light on the new nexus...

I sincerely hope it has a notification light. I will probably still pick one up without it, but it would be a serious detriment. I don't know why 100% of manufacturers aren't putting a notification LED on the phone. Including Apple. It makes no sense - it's a perfect, subtle way to alert someone to a notification without the overt and battery-sucking action of waking the phone up. Or waiting until someone wakes the phone up to see the notification.

I completely agree. My first dumb phone in 2005 had a customizable notification light and it wasn't until my evo in 2010 that I finally had that feature again (albeit, with limited colors). It is such a simple, but extremely necessary feature that I can't believe that it isn't a standard feature on all phones.

My dad has a charge and uses an app for missed notifications that sort of works. I know he would prefer a simple led.

I won't buy it if it doesn't have one. Simple as that. I cannot BEGIN to tell you how many times in one day that I simply glance at my Incredible to see if the LED is blinking! It's a huge timesaver to not have to activate the screen dozens of times a day needlessly. Surely I am not the only one who feels this way!

No LED - No Prime for me!

Not surprised by this, as the original Epic 4G had one too. It was the only one of the Samsung Galaxy S's (1st series) that had one.

Seems to me the a LED notification should be a standard feature on ALL phones, given what we pay for them (especially off contract), such a small and useful feature to add.

Going from the Evo to the Nexus S, the notification light was one thing that I really missed and I really hope the Prime has one.

I'm right there with you.

If there isn't an LED, I will definitely think twice about getting a Prime. Having a multi-colored LED has me spoiled. I love glancing at it and having an idea what the notification means.

I hope it has one, I really miss it from my previous android phones. BLN has been an ok replacement for the Nexus S notifications, but unfortunately there isn't color options.

Ironically, the Evo actually has 2 notification lights, one on each side of the speaker mesh where your ear goes. Ironically again, the stock Sprint ROM and all based on it only use the left one (charging one). The right one was somehow found by someone and incorporated into Cyanogen.

Now, when I get a message while charging (left light is on), I can still see if I have a notification because the right one does the job.

Why, oh why, did Sprint have a phone made with 2 lights, and only use one???

PS - The lack of a notification light is ridiculous and yet another way that Samsung could further separate themselves from Apple if they'd put it back on.

To be honest, I hope this phone is the anti-iPhone, and has none of the lawsuit-prompting designs that previous Galaxy/Nexus phones have had.

Amazing how something as simple as a notification light is a deal breaker....and its one to me too...lol Thats why its hard to say there is a best phone. None of the international GS2's had one IIRC.

While other folks are fighting over which cpu it has, some of us are more concerned about actual functionality.

The One thing I hated about the Charge was no Notification lite...Would drive me nuts! And now that I have it on the Bionic, I dont know if I'd be able to jump in the water and get one. Ehhhhhh....Who am I kidding, I'm getting this beast with or without the needy lite...

Who wants to bet this thing is without both a Notification lite, and a Micro SD slot! That would really suck, it's like getting kicked downstairs Twice...

Yeah, the SD card does make it easier to switch phones. At least I can get most of my stuff transferred to the cloud and then back to my new phone via Dropbox. The only time the SD card bothers me is when I get a new phone though (or a factory reset), the notification light I miss all the time

I think it does have a notification light. Cause if u look at one of the pic, "Something Big is Coming"...and someone enlarged the phone and it shows some different colors on the side and they dont look like buttons.

those are rumored to be contacts for when it is in its "rumored" gutless tablet.

If u look at the bottom right of the phone it looks like a little round circle with a dot in the middle. Best pic I could find to look at was one form last week on Droid life
